can hamsters and rats mate at all? can rats get pregnant from hamsters?
Answers:
If the rat didn't kill the hamster first, yes, a hamster and a rat could *mate*. But nothing would come of this mating, no viable offspring, because, even though they are both rodents, they are two separate species of rodents and their DNA does not match, therefore, neither can get pregnant from the other.

"my life has gone to the rats"
Absoulotely NOT! They ARE a DIFFERENT species and can't get pregnant from each other!!
No, because they are different species. It is very unfortunate for you.
No. and do NOT try this!
Rats are not only prey animals, but predators, too. They would see a hamster as food, and the rat will almost ultimately KILL the hamster. They would never mate in the wild.
Even if by some crazy happening they did, the offspring would either not develop, become stillborn, or be sterile. They have already tried breeding rats and mice, and every attempt has ended with undeveloped embryoes. It doesn't work.
They are not the same species, therefore, cannot breed with each other.
Ah no. Its like saying can a possum get pregnant off a koala! their both marsupials but thats it. Don't try and breed them, I assume your not a scientist.
No this is genetically impossible for this to happen. Please don't put a rat and a hamster together, they may try to harm each other.
No, hamsters and mice can mate but not rats and hamsters.
Oh please! what a ridiculas question! Do cats and dogs mate? do monkeys and elephants mate? I think your understanding a little that the answe is no!
Put a hamster and a rat together and one will be dead at the end of it all. they will rip each other to pieces. Please use your common sense.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! Its common sense! I am not trying to be mean. The rat would most likly kill the hamster!
Do NOT try mating them. :(
I highly doubt it
