Is it normal for my dog to get hiccups alot?

my dog gets the hiccups everyday, not a day goes by that she doesn't. She gets them atleast 2 to 3 or maybe 4 times a day! Why would she get them? is it normal? and what would cause her to have them?

Pups get the hiccups all the time. If your dog is an older dog then it may be the food your feeding your dog. It may cause excess gas to build up in the dogs stomach and cause the hiccups. Look at your dogs food to see what it contains. The very first ingredient should be meat with no fillers like corn or wheat or soy. Your dog may be having a bad reaction to these fillers and causing it to get hiccups.
Dogs can get hiccups for many reasons. It might be nothing, but I'd take her to the vet for a check-up. If she's a young dog/puppy and has not be de-wormed recently, one of the common causes can be roundworms.
It is normal. If you want to know why. Pay attention to when she gets them. My pug gets them after he drinks a lot of water too fast. They get hiccups the same way people get them. If they continue a long time and she has trouble regulating the vocal cords than I would see a vet as it is annoying but other than that no problem.
It could be nothing, or it could a problem with the dogs stomach, or esophagus. You should schedule a vet visit to make sure it isnt anything physical.
haha.. I dont really know what causes them but my two american pit bull terriers do the same thing! lol.. well, the older one, Brooklyn, is about a year old now and he doesnt really get them much anymore BUT our little girl, Destiny, is about 4 months old and she normally gets them once or twice a day. Like I said, I dont know what causes them but I always just thought it had something to do with them growing? lol.. Idk, I think its pretty normal though, if you are worried about it I would suggest mabey calling your vet to see what they have to say about it... Good luck! : )
Do not delay, go to the vets. Heartworms maybe! If not, then no worries, my mastiff did it too, but I had him checked out thoroughly though ok, it is important you do so. Now at 2 years old he gets them every so often instead. It is scary though.
