They see their reflection. The are protecting a nest near by or small baby birds of their own. The cardinal is the most aggressive of birds that will do that. They have been known to attack their own reflection until the have knocked themselves to the ground.

Dont be superstitious girl. Dont beleive in these things. Pilots hav this kinda trouble all the time. And bythe grace of GOD they are all alive and well with their COMPLETE family. Nothing will happen. Just beleive in DESTINY. If it was meant to happen, it will happen and no force on earth can stop it. But if it was not meant to be that way, It just simply wont no matter what. It means that it's not easy to fly at a high rate of speed, and still determine that the sky you are flying towards, is a reflection of the sky you are flying away from; and for this reason.. any death would surely be on the bird who's fooled by this illusion.

If it is a tweety bird, then it was probably trying to evade a hawk. If a hawk has flown into your window it means it was trying to catch a tweety bird and missed. If it was an owl it means it was being a dumb owl, couldn't see the window pane and tried to fly into your living room.
